there is a bend in the wind, and it rakes at my heart

HELLO. lately i have been in school which brings me to my latest blog. yesterday i was in for art classes and some of the students decided to draw me with oil pastels. so...i am going to share these photos with each post....sometimes just posting a drawing. (sorry if quality of photo is poor)

month of mud is over. i am happy. raced well. third place finish overall with Evan and Danny coming in first and second. i will stay active this winter.. climbing every so often and hopefully running more frequently. i spoke with tyler krivosh yesterday who has been doing an excellent job running and he plans to do a marathon soon. something i will think about but i know i will need a motivating partner.

decemberists live at the 930 club link is attached to title. great concert and great new album.

KING OF CARROT FLOWERS

i just finished the fourth race of month of mud. this was the cyclocross race at mammoth park. i showed up with the right tires(mud2's) and the right gear(39:18) but still managed to get smoked by so many racers. the course had less barriers than i expected and was lacking much of the fast and fun sections. i placed fifth in the singlespeed class and i believe ninth overall.. still holding on to third place in the series and i hope that is what i will finish after seven springs.

as for the other things. this has been an amazing autumn. the weather has been great, riding has been awesome, i began substituting last week, took a week or so off of climbing(CLIMBING-JOHN! i am ready to go), landscaping will slowly come to an end in about three more weeks, halloween is right around the corner and i am sure to have a costume that will not disappoint, and i am liking the fact that winter is around the corner-i already have been consistently watching great movies and winter travel is being contemplated.

jenny lewis-930 club tonight(15th) live on NPR. link connected with title.

marc told me sierras now shipping their harvest beer...i have the guys at m&m working on that. 60min has been the hottest beer in our fridge so far this summer. best deal is wolavers variety pack(brown ale, pale ale, ipa) $27. nick and i are considering buying weyerbachers double simcoe...looking for a third party for that one $48.

well, i have been meaning to write for some time now and i have finally made the time for it. happy fall and wish me luck in seven springs.

HOPGOBLIN AND MOM

here are some brew day pictures from nick. the day of brewing went well. of course we took time out to pick up pizza at ALDO'S - see picture of the pizza wagon. all ten gallons of beer will be ready just in time for the halloween celebrations. still contemplating the costume.

as for the month of mud. things are going well. great competition this year-especially this past race @ bradys run. mike from ohio pyle made an appearance which was great. although i finished 5th-slingshoted by steev-o in the last 200ft of the race, i only managed to move down one place in the total standings to third. this week is a new venue - cyclocross in mammoth park. would like to take second place off of danny before seven springs.

i have more pictures and other things to type but thats another day. enjoy the weather all. the link on the title will take you to becks latest on NPR. great talent there.
