september's coming soon, i'm pining for the moon

its been a long time since i last wrote. many have asked why the posts have stopped and want more posts which makes me happy. i dont want the blog to drop since i know too many people need something to read when they are at their deskjobs but unless somebody picks up my slack then its going to be only a fppm(few posts per month). anyway, today is easter and its a great day out there. was involved in a few outdoor games and i skipped out on a game of whiffle ball-might join that game later.
so far the spring has been great. buds are breaking and the color is perfect. if you have never stopped and looked close at the buds on trees and plants take the time and do so if that interests you. the colors and details, the new year and fresh growth. for those of you who have tried to eat one of these buds(some taste better than others), im assuming not many of you have, it is no wonder that animals love to eat new growth as apposed to growth of one or two years. not to mention the nutritional value in new growth. HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
after a weekend bike ride took us to drakes well, location where the first man struck oil, a few miles further we found four sons brewery and resturant. although i wanted a pint of there IPA of 9.8% i opted for the sampler. of the beers i sampled two i really enjoyed and the others were fair. food was good. i had the portobella mushroom and humus wrap, it could have been better but all in all it was fair. then again anything tastes good after fifty miles. our gangs has there new tap system working and i hear there was a line to get in both friday and saturday. looking forward to a beer with nick soon. last weekend landed me at chestnut and there tap selection was great including three dogfish beers-aprihop,60min,and their brown ale. also a nice selection from great lakes and one that will be popular with those who dont like beer-raspberry lambic. the gyro was also great with nice chunks of lamb.
so there is this talk of a party. this is no party by any basic definition. lets just hope the host doesnt drop the ball. anything i can to do help and make this happen let me know and start up the planning wagon soon. to do this right it will take some time and a lot of beer. tickets will probably be sold for this party so buy'em by the dozen. i will let everyone know if i hear anything new but as for now july is looking like the month.
so after the family get together i rode the beach cruiser down to my dads and home. on my ride i had maybe three comments yelled out the window at me. two of them were like "hell yeah" while the kid pumps his fist in the air. the other was more like "nice bike homo" while the driver probably just tossed out his beer bottle. hey, ive been there and it makes me laugh because i am reminded of some really fun times. H.G. Wells said "Everytime I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the human race." and i think the kid that passed saying "hell yeah" with his fist in the air was saying the same thing in his own way even if he didnt realize it. others passed without saying a word, just a look, but maybe they were thinking "hell yeah" or maybe "nice bike homo"
have a great week everyone. the temperature is supposed to be in the sixties all week. no rain in sight so far. i have spent a few days outside so far that gave me a hint of the intense heat of this summer. enjoy this great weather now while its here, its spring, dont let it go by without noticing it.
