...coffee black and egg white

so today was riding in apollo. this was my first time there and it is by far worth the extra driving time. excellent trails being built by some dedicated riders. bridges, rocks, hills, switchbacks it was all very nice riding. no doubt will a return visit be in the near future. also, riding these trail will reward you with some serious improvements. after riding a long thirty miles we managed to wait the long ride home to eat at laisla. we thought about testing a new mexican restaurant out of town but we were too hungry to risk bad food.
after that i had the pleasure of having coffee from the saeco v'spresso (see title link). this machine is awesome and makes a great cup of coffee complete with cre'me. nothing to do but push a button and your cup is ready. a dangerous machine to have and a world of difference from my old fashioned hand grind perc coffee that i love so much.
i included some pictures i just received from tahoe. notice the lake in the background. also, the party pyramid and jon and i being dragons. have a good week everyone.

trucks, sandwiches, and her

first who is this precious girl? she must be a baron and we love her. the sandwiches posted are chicken, avacado, sharp cheddar, and a special sauce. nick, john and i made the sauce extra special with daves insanity sauce. excellent. look for more in the future-then pick up our book at the local bookstore. as for the trucks, after the tug of war at this years corn roast and my truck destroyed the transmission of bryces, he had to go and one up me. its a great truck. my favorite features were the remote utility bed door locks, compartment lights, built in fuel pump hose, and generator compartment. basically its the ultimate construction vehicle. nice bryce-not looking forward to this years tug of war unless its against jonesy.
vertical black&tan

pictures of last weekend. as for marty and jamie they had the pleasure of going to laisla, then the keg, then our gangs. a rare treat for an out of towner. i must say i enjoyed the conversation of the possibility of a vertically divided black and tan. the conversation expanded the next day with nick baron, john, and i. lets just say we are on to something and currently looking for investors.
Big Blue Is Gone!

the blue truck is gone. im thinking that is a good thing. one less thing i own and one less thing in my way. my new computer is here and i have been learning and scratching my head. it is nicer than i expected. i am not efficient on setting things up on it since it is my first mac. using a mac was a bit easier for me than learning how do apply settings and such. it may take some time but i am going to be really happy with this computer. still debating this weekend and if i will go see boca at the bryce jordan center. i am laughing at myself lately.

just a little older, thats all.

its monday and i was hoping for a substitute call but unfortunately i am jobless today. the weekend was a very long one for me. st. patricks day on friday which felt like two days, going out with marty, jamie, lori and john on saturday, and sandwiches and the history of baseball with lori, john and the barons. the sandwiches were great. i will post a picture of them later. right now i am sitting in my running gear having a fight test with the cold weather outside. a friend of mine tim boca is jumping his motorcycle this weekend at the bryce jordan center. a large group of friends are planning to attend and i am going to keep it on my mind to go.
bryce and sara come home tonight. i will spend the rest of the day cleaning the house from all the parties i had there this weekend. seriously. no, seriously. bryce, i reordered a new lamp and it should be there on wednesday and the guys to pick up the hottub will be there first thing tuesday.
my sister made me realize my birthday is coming up soon and that my calender has been on the month of february. lucky for me the dates from last month and this month match up. ok. its me against the cold for about forty five minutes.

talked to mike desalvo today. the front triangle of my bike is together. titanium, ebb(titanium, paragon), mango chris kings, white industries cranks, phil wood bottom bracket, hydraulic xt brakes.. still have to make a decision on a suspension fork or not but the steel fork is built. no cable mounts, i think it well be nice to have it clean and simple and run a full length cable with ties if i want gears. excited to say the least about this bike.

....letthemknowyourealizethatlifegoesfast,itshardtomakethegoodthingslast....

this is a reminder that its not too late to think about a halloween costume. last year i had fun as an ipod and was probably one of three of my friends that dressed up. i know the year i went as a clown was fun but my hat kept getting shut in the car door. ninjas were always fun to pretend to be,especially with plastic silver and gold throwing stars and german pretzel makers are fun too. Mummy costumes always sound like a good idea but i must say that costume only lasted twenty minutes before i switched into my judo gee. i have a few ideas for this year and i hope all of my friends are planning on dressing up just because its fun and the more costumes the more fun it becomes. i also wanted to wish a safe and fun trip to s&b. post some pictures of where you are and i will post pictures of my party at your place. tax appointment tonight-happy happy. lately i have been contemplating building a gargage with an apartment on the second floor. i have found some designs i like but nothing solid yet. as for now its just something i am thinking about but i think its a good idea. today was cold and throwing away cardboard is difficult when its windy. the next two days i will be substituting and then its st. patricks day so guinness is in the forcast. no green beer....ah who am i kidding?

sometimesgoodweatherfollowsbadpeople.
saturdays ride was great as bryce predicted in that last post. after about sixty some miles we rode to la isla and had some food and drinks. the next few miles after that became quite fun and interesting. after challenging heath to a race across a muddy field he took off and ended up slipping off his pedal, hitting his top tube, and flipping over the bike. that was only topped five minutes later by me not looking forward and slamming into a wooden barracade. it was a lot of fun. the temperature is supposed to be high tomorrow and i wonder if i will be called into the school. wednesday and thursday look to be two full days of kindergarden. yikes. no pictures of this weekend but i wish i had video of the two clips in the park. im also thankful my tire is still on my trailer after returning from wexford and noticing the lugs were very loose.

well i have been home almost a week and i havent even gone to the keg. last night was the first night at our gangs though. happy to see some friends and hop devil behind the bar. a good group of us started out at mill street grille in new castle. a new restaurant that is getting good reviews. i had the tuna which was great. i also tried the salmon and crab cakes. both good but i was happy with my choice of tuna. after dinner we had a few drinks at the bar. i think everyone agreed that we like this place.
today is nice out and a long ride is in the forcast. it will be my first long ride since ive been back. no pictures of last night because i forgot to charge the batteries. after today everone will have spring fever but winter is still here. always snow after my birthday-always.

do you misstify me..

i spent the past two days working on the trailer converting hydraulic brakes to electric brakes. it went smoothly but i am still not done with the wiring. that takes time, patience, and small fingers. i posted a tribute to bob, welding on the new hitch. he does things well but sometimes what he decides to do isnt the best idea-unfortunately i take on some of those qualities. anyway, the wiring should be done soon. not much else to write except i ditched out on yoga the past two days with sara(sorry sara). la isla with joe tonight. looking forward to st. patricks day. i already know what i am wearing. green from my neck to my toes.

when my bike, stands next to your bike....

Back in Pennsylvania. Nice to see my friends and stroll the roads of Hermitage/Sharon. I wanted to take this beauty out today but i have a front tire that isnt holding air. It is a Hawthorne Trail Blazer sold I believe in around 1930. Mikey is going to help me out with it and hopefully i will be riding it to a bar this summer. I must say its in great shape, about 55lbs, stewart-warner floating front hub, and red and orange glass diamond cut reflectors. just need some new grips and maybe a tube.

...no chance for heartache, there was alcohol involved.

here are some pictures of last weekend. without a doubt we had a blast. this is my last day in la and its a little sad to leave. tina and marc have been so much fun and we all agree its been a big party out here and its time to relax and head back to a slower pace. marc and i will begin detox, well sort of. mike, nora, cory, shelly, romine(?), phil, zoe, katie, and cal thanks for everything and i hope to hang out with you all soon. erik, i hope the ski trip went great and your knee is just fine. next time i am out we will have to spend some more time with the hotlife. soon we will be going to zoe's to watch the oscars and then i catch my flight. it leaves at 10:30 and i arrive in pit just before 600am. i dont mind this flight since i dont really lose any daytime. i am excited to see my family and friends back home and spend time with them. thanks again to everyone here that made my trip so great. keep in touch. i cant wait to get my new computer which will help me keep in touch with everyone better. until next time. w/love ryan...

what is a stuffed sandwich and what is lucky baldwins?

so i had a lot of people ask me what a stuffed sandwich is. here are some pictures. featured is the polish sausage and a new try for everyone -the beef dip with polish sausage and dont forget the staple for many -the pastrami. these sandwiches are so good everyone should have them regularly with exercise. its sad that it was my last visit there for a while but i know its not good bye forever. next photos are from lucky baldwins. a bar currently running a belgian fest where over fifty belgians are currently on tap and regularly changing. check out phil in my windshield glasses. nice. anyway its a little after seven here and we are going out for a bite and to a jam fest at knitters. talked to jason d. for the first time in a while. nice to hear from you buddy.
love is not the instrument of pain, its your own mind.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZOE. here are pictures of last nights party at casa vegas. mexican food and strong margaritas. from there a few of us went to a tapas place. of course when i first heard of the tapas resturaunt i thought we were going to a topless resturaunt. i think a topless tapas place would do well. off to my last visit to the stuffed sandwich. i will write more and post some more pictures later. tonight we are going to see a band. it should be good. i just listened to their new cd and its good.

andthemomentwillcomewhencomposurereturns..........
sooooo. root canal is finished - up next temporary and crown. this is where the whole precedure went downhill last time. glad that part is over anyway. some soreness still lingers but its much better. the pain meter went over the top a few times and it wasnt for a minute or five this time. be sure to click the link of this title if you are interested in belle & sebastian and the new pornographers concert at the 930 club. let me know what you think of it if you listen to it. death cab for cutie and franz ferdinand play in reno and la march 25 and 26. would love to see that one. right now we are deciding what to eat for lunch. it was down to sushi twice or stuffed sandwich twice.
i vote stuffed sandwich twice(sushi saturday night) because i am hungry from this mornings yoga class which was killer. marc and i met kate there and it was a class full. i overheard and recognized on kid from the single speed world championships. he is going to stockholm, sweden for this years event. it should be a trip worth taking. byrce, maybe that could be the make-up trip since you were under the weather this past one. anyway the class was tough-meaning 20% of the positions i couldnt do. it made my back feel better from the ski accident which i had forgotten about since my mind was on my tooth.
i feel like there is more to say but thats all for now. see most of you soon. pictures soon. ryan out.
